Kathak dance is from North India. It features beautiful expressions and expansive rhythms through its dances. Fast foot work, beautiful Chakkars (Pirouettes); a crisp story telling and graceful moves makes it an enjoyable evening for all family. Kathak glides and flows with beautiful Hindustani singing ; with a support on Tabla. Music is adorned and decorated with Harmonium music; veteran Imrath Guitarist will support with his beautiful music. Striking Padanths - a recitation of rhythmical phrases to support the footwork and body moves of pure dance in Kathak.
Guruji Prasanna Kasthuri is a recognized teacher of this art form in Missouri. He has learnt this art from Dr. Mayarao from Bengaluru; from Padmavibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj ji and his disciple - Guru Saswathi Sen. Prasanna has presented hundreds of dance performances. He is a great singer, drummer and also a supporter of art.
